Thanks to those of you who have joined me over at my new blog, Life. Design. and the Pursuit of Craftiness. I'm having fun blogging about my other love interests over there, but haven't entirely forgotten about Love Actually!

In fact, I still get a lot of requests to design and personalize digital kits for my followers and after completing the kits for Christmas, I decided it was time for a new and improved design of my Date of the Month Club Kit....just in time for Valentine's Day!

It's a perfect gift for your husband, wife, boyfriend, girlfriend, fiance... you get the idea!

I designed this kit to fit inside a small box (mine is a Godiva Chocolate box). (When you purchase the kit, I will send you the JPEG files so you can size the kit pieces larger or smaller depending on the size of your box.)

Here's an upclose look at each part of the kit, which could be customized for YOUR valentine, of course!

Explanation: (You'll give your Valentine a list of 12+ dates on this card. A few more than 12 would be nice. Keep in mind, these don't all have to be fancy dates from my blog. Guys like simple dates, too...like, throwing a frisbee at the park. Put some of his interests in there as dates with you. Then, he will choose which date he wants for which month. Then, it's up to you keep that card and plan those dates each month (Hence, "date of the month club")

Well, HELLO, my friends! My, my...it has been a while. ...sorry about that.

I've been super busy, but I had to pop in and tell you about my latest ventures...oh, and to let you know that.....

my husband and I are still married!! (and still very much happily married). It might seem silly to some that I had to post that, but you'd be surprised with how many emails I've received from concerned readers wondering where I went? if I'm okay? if my marriage is okay? if I want help posting? the list goes on.

haha.

So, to you concerned readers, a sincere Thank you! Your concern was really thoughtful and touching.

I kinda had to just up and leave the blog for a while with so many things going on in my life...I didn't want to do a "goodbye" post because... honestly, I HATE goodbyes... AND I wasn't ever sure I was really done for good. So, by leaving it open, the possibility was still there.

With that said, it's no secret that Love Actually is more an archive of ideas than an active posting site these days... I intend to keep it that way for now. (until I decide to come back and make something more of it!) The ideas are still free for you to use for personal use, unless written permission is given from me.

"The Bachelor" Finale Party

So, the Bachelor proposed last night...did anyone watch?! eeee. (that was a squeal, by the way.)

You shoulda heard the screaming in my house the moment that Chantal's limo pulled up first. We all knew that meant that she'd be the first to go...and that left Emily there with Brad. She was the one. Bittersweet moment, really. Chantal seemed to really have her heart set on Brad and as great as she was, Emily was just, well, Emily. That's hard to top.

THEN..... the "after the rose" special was heart-breaking! They are finding out that love isn't as easy as receiving the Final Rose. I guess it's a good lesson to learn, but I hope they can keep it together!

A few girlfriends and I have rotated houses most every Monday this Bachelor season.. I thought we'd end it with a big affair.

I'm sharing my party details mainly because I searched the internet high and low for "The Bachelor" themed parties and found nothing! So, here it is for you to adapt for future Bachelor seasons.

It started with invites to the ladies....

(PS...the word "suite" reads like "sweet".... I know, if I had to explain it's just not as cool. oh well.)

...That was shortly followed by 2 favors asked of the husbands (without the wives knowing!)

1. To plan a date for their wives in the near future and tell me what he's planning (so I could make a "date card" for each girl).

2. To show up that night in a suit right before the Final Rose Ceremony to give his wife a rose.

Our guys were such good sports and the night was so fun because of them!

The girls brought the "suites" and I had chips, salsa, and dip along with punch.

Prior to the Finale starting, I had the girls split into teams and each team had strips of paper which had facts about both Chantal and Emily. They had to determine which fact belonged to each girl. The team with the most correct won. (I found these facts from just google searching each contestant).

...and the prize?

Yup. {seriously} They are about that big, too. I found these ginormous rings at the Christmas Tree Shops for 3 bucks a pop! ....(they are actually napkin ring holders, but just for that night they played the part of giant diamond rings).

Commercial Breaks

I quizzed the group with trivia about The Bachelor and the contestants, but the funnest part of our commercial breaks were "knocks" at my door when a DATE CARD arrived for each girl. (They came at random times all throughout the night. By "came" I mean, I tried to sneakily set them by the door and then I'd pretend to hear a knock)

Some of my favorite lines during the reading of our date cards that night:

"My card doesn't say anything about LOVE!" (quoting Michelle from this season)
"I hope I don't get on a group date...I'm not here to make friends." (quoting Michelle again)
"There's a date card, girls...eeeee! I hope it's me!" (quoting every girl in Bachelor history)

These were dates the husbands actually had planned for their wives!

And then, the time came for the Final Rose Ceremony. During the final commercial break, in came our Bachelors with roses. The girls were surprised and so excited to their suited "bachelors"!

We all graciously accepted our roses...especially considering that we were the ONLY ones getting a rose from OUR man. :)

I sent each couple home with this little item from my table decor... (found these at the Dollar Tree 10/$1) that had 2 Ring Pops (heart-shaped, in fact) in them.

We are missing a few Bachelors in this shot, but all of them were there!

What a fun night! We got two for one.... a Girls Night turned Group Date. Who's ready for next season?! (The Bachelorette premiers in May with Ashley H...)

Oh. PS. I went searching to see if anyone else had done a Finale party last night, and found this...free printables from Emilie Handmade! sweet...wish I had found them sooner!

An a-MAZE-ing Valentine's Day

You may have noticed that I don't share a lot of the personal day-to-day details with you of my life. This isn't a personal blog (although it can get a little "personal" at times!). I think my biggest reason for choosing to write this way is to eliminate one other person that you need to keep track of or have to read about. I try to leave me and hubs out of the imagery of my posts as much as possible so that YOU, my lovely readers, can imagine you and yours in the date and romantic ideas I have created.

By not filling you in on my day-to-day marriage experiences, however, it has occurred to me that many of you think that my marriage is lovey-dovey 24/7.

Despite anyone's perception, our life is not the stage play of this blog. We have our struggles like any other couple. We have great moments and other moments we can't stand to be in the same room with one another. Our marriage is no where near perfect.

I really wanted you to know that. In times when you struggle and wish for something different, or as you read this blog and think I might have the perfect marriage or even when you wonder how your neighbors across the street really have it together.... just know this. The grass isn't always greener in someone else's marriage. You don't know what goes on behind closed doors... (and thank goodness for that!) They might actually have a great marriage...but I'll bet you anything that it isn't perfect. And even if it is great, there was something which brought it to greatness.

What's important is that you focus on making YOUR marriage the best it can be and

remember that it takes work. Really. Hard. Work. I think it's probably the hardest work in the world.

On that note, I thought I'd allow you a glimpse into my marriage...just for today. Hubs and I have been at odds for the past little while (nothing serious...but little stresses from school and work have seem to put us at odds!). I didn't want Valentine's Day to pass by without showing him how much I still loved him and still wanted to be with him!

So this is what I did.

I related our "being at odds" to being in a maze of sorts (so I put a lovey-dovey spin on a "maze" theme to introduce our Valentine's Day plans.)

(PS: The cute paper design for the back of my card is from the "Dance with Me" kit, FREE at Summertime Designs.)

I'm embarrassed to admit how corny I am, but I had "Amazed" by Lonestar playing as he read his card. (That was our wedding song...so it worked for us.)

Then, after that lovey-dovey mush, I'm sure hubs was delighted to solve this maze.

(of course, the bottom portion was covered up....)

And then, our Valentine's Day plans were revealed at last... A weekend getaway to Cape Cod!

I promise I'm not turning into the TripAdvisor Review website, but if you live in the New England area or plan to travel to Cape Cod, this is a must-stay!! I'll tell you why:

We stayed at the lovely and romantic bed and breakfast, Ashley Manor in Barnstable. What a perfect choice! We had an amazing suite complete with a 2-person jacuzzi tub and fireplace. We felt at home instantly as our innkeepers greeted us at the door. They served a 3 course breakfast each morning (my favorite menu item was a baked pear with a dab of vanilla bean ice cream and drizzled with the best caramel sauce ever. {de.li.cious.} Luckily, Vince filled me in on his caramel "recipe".

The whole stay was just perfect. They had taken care of even the smallest details for us, right down to the bottle opener which I had forgotten. A small detail...but without it, there would have been no sparkling cider as we cuddled up next to the fireplace!

Because of that, I was inspired to never again forget such a detail, and to help you {not} do the same. How?

Inspiring Creations: Valentine Crafts

I am so excited to be blog swapping with Cher today!!

My name is Lindsey and I blog over at Inspiring Creations. I am a wife, mother, and student. I love creating and inspiring others to create too!

When Cher asked me to do a blog swap I was so excited to share some of my love crafts and ideas with you. I love celebrating Valentine's Day! Which is funny because I'm not a very romantic person---but my husband is VERY romantic! I think that's why I like it so much, because I know he always has something fun and romantic planned for me each year!

Right now we are "poor college students" :) and we can't always afford to go all out like we used to for Valentine's Day. So I came up with a solution this year. I am making my hubby these love coupons!

Aren't they fun? I can't wait to use them! You can be as romantic as you want or you can just have fun with them! I thought I would make them into a PDF so that anyone that wants to use these can for free. You can print them here.

If you are looking to make your sweet someone something personal to put your love coupons in my next idea would be perfect. I made this album for my hubby's birthday last year and he LOVED it!

On every page I tried to put a love quote on it and I tried to keep it simple.

Every Valentine's Day we make sugar cookies in our house. These are not just any sugar cookie, these are the BEST sugar cookies EVER! :) You will be surprised to find out that these are Wheat Sugar Cookies...but they are extremely soft and super yummy.

"Remember When" Valentine's Banner

Michelle from Through Michelle's Lense is a follower of Love Actually and just so happened to do the "12 Lays of Christmas" for her hubby. He loved it so much that she decided to create another version of the 12 lays....this time for Valentine's Day!

Michelle wrote,

I have been reminiscing on some of our fun memories lately, and thought it might be fun to incorporate them into this idea. I made a banner that said "REMEMBER WHEN" (with one letter on each "pendant"). I wanted to do it for the 14 days leading up to Valentine's Day, so I added 2 blank spaces between the two words. On the back of each heart pendant, I wrote a memory, and then a way to reenact it, or spice it up a bit that night.

I wanted to make it cuter, but I knew that it would mean more to him if I didn't spend money, than if I had "cutened" it up. :)

Word Warped Anniversary Gift

Each year, hubby and I rotate who plans the anniversary date or event. This year, he had event-duty which left me with getting him a gift (nothing too elaborate, of course). I decided rather than wrap his gift, I'd make him work for it.

There is an app on our iPhones called Word Warp that we've both been into lately, so I warped the letters of his gift and watched as his mind went to work!

This is what he was trying to solve:
(the letters given spell out lots of different 3+ letter words...the biggest word they spell is "motocross"...which is the word I wanted him to get at.)

Once he solved it, his anniversary gift was revealed: Tickets to a Freestyle Motocross Show!

So, here's the lesson application to you:

....you've gotta put a little excitement ahead of a gift like this. Although it's something he may REALLY want (he's been asking for 5 years to go to a motocross show with me), it's pretty boring to just hand over some tickets or something of the sort. You don't have to do word-warp, of course, but get creative in doing something personal to both of you. Make a mini-event of it and it's sure to be more fun...for both of you!

As promised, I have a fun new idea for you with a free download. And, it's just in time for Christmas. Now, for all you who don't like any mention of anything intimate (even within marriage), then you'll probably wanna mosey away from this blog right now.

With that said, I love this idea and find it so very clever! I don't think it's dirty in the least bit, rather an exciting Christmas present that any husband would die for!

A friend of mine came up with this and asked that I keep her anonymous. But I asked if I could share the inspiration behind her idea and she agreed to let me post her words:

"Around Christmas time it's easy to forget what it's all about, and I tend to get stressed out about the presents and money, and the never ending to-do list of shopping, cooking, wrapping, mailing, etc.
And my husband gets a crazy, frazzled wife to deal with through the holidays.

Well, the other day I was (already) stressing about what to get everyone for Christmas with a very low bank account, and I asked my husband what our budget was and what he wanted. He replied, "You KNOW what I want." I just laughed at him and said, "No really, what do you want?" He just looked at me and said, "Why can't I want that? I just want you." Anyway, we kept talking and he said he really just wanted to use the little money we had to get the kids some presents- and he didn't need anything- just me.

Afterward, I started thinking and realized- you know, I don't think he's just being nice- I think that's REALLY all he wants. Of course, I'm probably going to make him a couple of other small presents- but I'm excited to surprise him with the 12 Lays of Christmas. Because I know he's going to love it- and I know it's going to help me remember what it's all about. So this year I'm giving my husband a happy, stress-free wife- and a lot of lovin'. :) There's nothing better than giving yourself!!!"

Amen! Here's the idea:

The night before the 12 Lays of Christmas starts (Dec. 13^th) leave this note for your husband, explaining how it will work (basically that you two are going to be making love every night for 12 days straight leading up to Christmas):

Along with the note, you can also leave a pocket advent calendar to count down the 12 Lays of Christmas. It’s really easy- you just get a pack of Dentyne gum (or any brand that has 12 pieces of gum in a pack) On the back of each square of gum, use a sharpie to label the numbers 1-12. That way, they can eat a piece of gum each day of the 12 Lays of Christmas. (If you want, you can also replace the Dentyne label with your own decorative label) Attach this note to the gum…

And remember what I say,
It must be done every day.
Just so you won’t forget-
Grab this pack and your set.
You can’t chew your piece of gum,
Until the deed is really done.

Then, leave a small present (the idea for each present is in bold text at the end of the post) each day for your spouse to find along with the accompanying note, to remind them that “the deed must be done every day.”

Heeelllooooo everyone.....

It's been a while since I've been "back here" as Love Actually has been on auto-post for about 2 months. Yeah, it wasn't really me posting the past few times. *guilty* It was blogger.

Anyway, I've had to really weigh my priorities recently and while I whole-heartedly believe this blog is a worthwhile endeavor, there are just other things that must be put first.

I don't want to see this cute little blog "bite the dust" entirely, so the blog will remain here for you.... And for those moments when I'm inspired to share a fun idea, I will do so.

But first, I have a quick question:

Does anyone know what happened to my photo bucket images? My account is still active but the pictures are gone (which means my cute red polka-dot background is gone and my menu bar links, too....) Doesn't make for a pretty blog. boo! I'd love any advice you can offer me.

Life Report Card

Although we don't get graded for being a good husband or wife, it's nice to occasionally to receive praise for ordinary things. The next time you notice your spouse "making the grade" in the subjects of life (that you may often take for granted), let this report card do the talking.

Design a report card on your computer or hand design it on notebook paper, or you can use my freebie below. Think of life "subjects" that your spouse excels in. (Note: This is not the time to dish out failing grades for things they aren't good at.) Think positive.

Display the report card proudly on your refrigerator for your spouse to see. You can even leave a message next to it that says, "Great job! I'm so proud of you! Let me take you out tonight for getting such good grades!"

Wanted: Your Spouse

Sometimes we all just need to feel wanted. Your spouse is no exception. Here's a way that will really demonstrate how much they are "wanted."

How do I get one of these posters, you ask? You make one! Even if you have to crumple up a brown paper bag, paste a picture on it, and use a permanent marker to create the “wanted’ poster look! (not a bad idea, huh?) Or you can just use your computer. Either way, you’re going to need a few posters—not just one.

Tape the posters up all around your home. Before your spouse even sees you for the first time that evening, make sure they've seen several posters. Make sure there is some kind of reward (whether explicitly stated or not).

"Capture My Heart" Date Night

On this date, you and your spouse will battle for each other's heart...literally! Think of it as a twist off the familiar outdoor activity, "Capture the Flag".

You’ll need:
2 nerf guns
2 heart shaped objects (or a medium sized heart-shaped paper for last minute planning)
Black clothing
Theme music (Mr. & Mrs. Smith soundtrack, possibly?) Optional.

First, agree on a reward for the winner be it a massage, a certain meal, a household chore, etc.

Then, get yourself into battle mode as you both split up to hide your heart-shaped objects. Sneak around the house so your spouse won't suspect where you've hidden it. Have a starting point for each of you on opposite sides of the house and yell when you're ready to play.

The goal is to find the heart-shaped object they've hidden before they find yours. If you get hit with the nerf gun, you’re down for 30 seconds. So, duck and cover and sneak around as much as possible.

May the best man or woman win!

Psychiatrist Date

Surely there are times when you wonder what in the world is going on in your spouse's head. Here's your chance to play psychiatrist and really find out just what is going on in there!

Here's how:

· As an invite to your date, call your spouse during the day to let him or her know that their psychiatrist just called and that they'd be making a house call tonight at 8:00 pm.

· When it's time for your date, have a sign on the door of the room which you'll use as your psychiatrist office. The sign could simply say, "Dr. (Your Name), Psychiatrist". Welcome them into your office with a warm greeting and invite them to sit or lay down (in a comfortable reclining chair, couch, etc.).

· Start with a warm up exercise including massaging their temples, face, neck and shoulders.

· After the warm-up, instruct your spouse: "For today's session, we'll be doing an exercise called "What If". This will allow me to understand you better and accurately identify any conditions affecting your mental health. Please answer all questions honestly." (Google "what if questions" for examples.) While your spouse sits or lays in a comfortable position, sit in a chair next to them with a notebook or clipboard in hand. Ask them a series of "What If" questions including questions you may actually want to know their response to as well as some funny questions. As they answer questions, randomly say to yourself (but out loud) things likes "interesting", "hmm...", "I see", etc.

· At the end of your session, let your patient know that they need a lot of help and that this prescribed medicine should help. (Recycle a used prescription bottle or even an old Advil or Tylenol container. Fill with skittles, m & m's, red hot candies, etc.) Your label could look something like this:

Lovin' Your Student Spouse 101: Essay for Love

Nobody likes it when midterms and those big paper deadlines roll around. To show your student spouse that you "share their pain" draft an essay for them along these lines:

"Why I Have the Best Husband in the World"

or

"Why My Wife is the Smartest Woman Alive"

... anything you want.

Print it out in essay style complete with page numbers, your student number, due date, title page and perhaps a "works cited" section where you can make up books or sources where you got the information for your essay...this is where humor could come handy).

Your title page could look like something like this:

Lovin' Your Student Spouse 101: Old School Lovin’

It's back to school time again, but this time, study buddies are mandatory for all classes...and you won't be sent to the principal's office for kissing in class!

The bell has rung. It's time for class. Make sure your classmate has their backpack on as you head into 1st period. Being the good study buddy you are, you've already stopped by the office to pick up their class schedule. As you compare your schedules, you'll realize that you're in the same classes together. What are the odds?

· Art: For the criminal sketches, one of you will pick a person that you both know and without revealing their name, describe physical features while the other person draws them. After the picture is complete, reveal the name of your "criminal". Then, switch roles. (Don't forget to display your drawings on the fridge!) If drawing isn't either of your strong suits, try your hands at modeling clay or play dough.

· Music : You could play Rock Band if you have it, practice a dance that you learned from You-Tube, play any musical instrument that you have at home, or even just listen to some favorite songs that you haven't heard in a while.

· Home Ec: This would be an excellent time to make your "lunch" together as an assignment or even do a household chore together that needs to get done.

· Lunch: If you didn't make lunch together in Home Ec, you could have lunch already packed in a lunch box complete with a sandwich, apple, and milk carton. How about a little treat and love note from home?

· Math: Learn about math in the real world by doing Sodoku puzzles which you can find free online. If you didn't have dessert packed in your lunch box, perhaps you could learn about pi (3.14) and pie charts while eating pie!

· Physics: A hands-on demonstration is one of the best ways to learn, especially when you're learning the laws of thermodynamics. Classmates will give and receive a massage to learn how heat is generated by friction.

· Phys Ed: This class has been scheduled last to prevent students from being sweaty in other classes.

After your final class, present your classmate with their report card rolled up like a diploma. Make the report card very simple. The grades (one in particular) are all that matter.

Anniversary Shadow Box

My husband and I just celebrated our 12 year anniversary. Although my husband had already spoiled me with gifts and flowers, we agreed to do things a little differently this year. We wanted to work on something together that would last for years to come. I envisioned a "Anniversary Shadow Box" that we could hang above our bed that I could look at daily. We gathered the pictures and trinkets we'd wanted to add to our box. Then we measured the wood accordingly."

Wallet Gift for Him

I'm a big fan of getting my husband a new wallet each year... I just get so sick of seeing his worn out wallet that he sits on everyday! Even so, I'm sure the wallet gift gets old year and year...hubby can't even fake excitement anymore. poor guy.

But, I've found some great ideas to spruce up wallet-giving... OF, if his wallet is still in good shape, you can make a "wallet card" out of paper. This would make a fun birthday gift.

In each slot, stuff the wallet with:

- A picture of the two of you... (or maybe a picture of you that he'll like)

- An array or just one gift card to his favorite stores or restaurants

“The Dating Game" Date Night

When you find your relationship getting stuck in a rut, surprise your spouse with a new you...well, three new yous! You're both sure to get a laugh out of this dinner date based on TV's "The Dating Game" where a bachelorette would question three bachelors who were hidden from her view. At the end of the questioning period, she would choose one to go out on a date with.

To create a little anticipation, you can either give a card like the one below to your spouse or email it to them at work or school as a hint that Date Night is going to be fun tonight!

· Choose who your three bachelor or bachelorettes are going to be (based on generic personalities...however stereotypical they may be). Once decided, dinner will correspond to the selected person. Be sure that you have three dinner options ready based on your spouse's pick! The possibilities are endless. Here are some examples:

Bachelor/Bachelorette Personality	Dinner
Barbie (stereotypical "valley girl")	Burger and Fries
Foreign National	Cultural Food: Italian, Chinese, Indian, etc.
Redneck	Hotdogs
Cowboy/Cowgirl	BBQ & Baked Beans
Animal Lover	Vegetarian food
School Teacher	Bagged Lunch

· At the start of your date, have your spouse sit down while you act as the announcer for the game show. Explain the rules to them. Give him or her the list of questions and a notepad (just in case notes are helpful). Then, announce the name of the bachelors or bachelorettes and where they are from. Then, hide yourself and have your spouse start the questioning while you act the part of three different personalities. (Change your voice to help with the allusion. Remember, as much as you'd like to ham up these characters, make sure they all have appealing characteristics. If your spouse decides against all three, then you've got a problem!)

· Your job is easy. You'll basically have a script written for each question asked to each of the bachelor or bachelorettes. For example, when your spouse asks, "What is your idea of a perfect date?" you'll respond with a different answer for each:

Bachelorette #1 (Cowgirl): "I'd take me and my cowboy to the rodeo. Yee-haw!"
Bachelorette #2 (Teacher): "Prom! I'm chaperoning, but that doesn't mean I can't dance!"
Bachelorette #3 (Barbie): "Umm...I'd, like, go shopping or like, get pedicures together."

· Example Questions:
If we were marooned on a desert island, what would be the first thing you'd do and why?
If you could go on a vacation anywhere in the world, where would you go?
Your house is on fire, what do you grab as you run out?
What color best describes your personality and why?
What do you wish you could change about yourself ?
You are driving and get lost, what do you do and how do you handle it?
If you were going to be famous for one thing, what would it be?
What is your idea of a perfect date?

Comedy Club Date Night

It's time to get you and your date laughing together! (something you may not have done since your engagement photos when the photographer suggested you laugh for the photo.....)

For this date, you'll be turning your home into a Comedy Club. So, let loose, laugh and be silly on this funny little date!

First, you'll need a catchy name:

Hailey's Ha Ha Cafe

...or whatever (just have a little sign with the Club Name on it as your date starts)

Then, you'll want to "pre-order' tickets and give your spouse their ticket early, since they'll be "meeting you there".

Keep your "club" dimly lit (white Christmas lights help to create the effect) and always have upbeat music playing until Act 2. Be sure to serve up some good drinks and have a few appetizers on a tray.

Tech Support for Installing a Husband

When marriage get's frustrating, it sometimes works to have a little humor. Every once in a while, try laughing at the things that irritate you, because you should know, we all deal with our share of marriage frustrations.

Here's a funny for you...

Dear Tech Support,

Last year I upgraded from Boyfriend 5.0 to Husband 1.0 and noticed a distinct slow down in overall system performance particularly in the flower and jewelry applications, which operated flawlessly under Boyfriend 5.0.

In addition, Husband 1.0 uninstalled many other valuable programs, such as Romance 9.5 and Personal Attention 6.5, and then installed undesirable programs such as NBA 5.0, NFL 3.0 and Golf Clubs 4.1.

Conversation 8.0 no longer runs and Housecleaning 2.6 simply crashes the system. Please note that I have tried running Nagging 5.3 to fix these problems, but to no avail. What can I do?

Dear Desperate,

First, keep in mind that Boyfriend 5.0 is an entertainment package while Husband 1.0 is an operating system. Please enter the command: ithoughtyoulovedme.html, download Tears 6.2 and be sure to install the Guilt 3.0 update. If those applications work as designed Husband 1.0 should then automatically run the applications Jewelry 2.0 and Flowers 3.5.

However, please remember that overuse of the above application can cause Husband 1.0 to default to Grumpy Silence 2.5, Happy Hour 7.0, or Beer 6.1. Please note that Beer 6.1 is a very bad program that will download the Snoring Loudly Beta.

Whatever you do DO NOT under any circumstances install Mother-In-Law 1.0 (It runs a virus in the background that will eventually seize control of all your system resources.)

In addition, please do not attempt to reinstall the Boyfriend 5.0-program. This is an unsupported application and will crash Husband 1.0.

In summary, Husband 1.0 is a great program, but it does have limited memory and cannot learn new applications quickly. You might consider buying additional software to improve memory and performance. We recommend Cooking 3.0 and Hot Lingerie 7.7.

Everyone loves that feeling of being admired, especially by the person you are head over heels for. Before you were married you were extremely interested in every part of your sweetheart's life. What were his talents, who were her friends, where did he work, what were her favorite pastimes? There was something so exciting about unfolding these mysteries. When she was sad you wanted to know why. When he was excited you wanted all the details. It was this interest in each other's lives that created bonding experiences and connected the two of you together.

As you continue to date your spouse now, think of new questions to ask him/her. If you happen to revisit old topics or repeated stories listen as though you are hearing the story or discussing the topic for the first time. Spend time with your spouse doing the things he/she loves to do. This will help you learn more about your spouse and why he/she loves to do these things. Try to see things from his/her perspective as often as possible. By stepping into your spouse's world and expressing excitement or curiosity about they things he/she is passionate about, your spouse will develop a strong interest in your world as well.

5. Put Yourself in New Environments and Unexpected Situations

Yes, this is why dating is so important. Going on dates allows the opportunity for the two of you to be in new and different environments. Don't repeat the same dates or visit the same restaurants. Be spontaneous and change things up a bit. This will spark new ideas and conversation topics. Magnetic Home Decor

Just a couple of quick, simple ideas for you when you are feeling a sudden urge of craftiness with a lovey-dovey appeal, but don't want to be tied up for hours!

1. Last Name Letter Magnets

Most craft stores carry little letters like this. I found these at Michael's with magnets already on the back, but you can easily attached sticky magnets if needed. I painted mine with black acrylic paint, sanded the edges, and attached a bow.

2. Tile Photo Magnets

Once again, Michael's Craft Store to the rescue. I found these tile magnets in the Dollar Section (2 for $1.00) and thought they'd make cute white board or refrigerator magnets. Here's a mini tutorial for you:

"It's a penny jar. Every time you "have-a-little-fun-in-the-bedroom", you put a penny in your jar. We started it with the new year and our goal is to top the number next year. There's all kinds of variations, though. If you want to put a quarter or even a dollar in you could use that money towards renting a movie or a date. It's also a good code name. i.e. "I want to put a penny in our jar. Should we put the kids to bed?" Then, no one would know what you were talking about! It was a pretty simple project to do and even my husband loves the idea!"

She loves dates with her hubby and said how she loves "to get all dolled up (wearing white pants even) and feel like a WOMAN and not a MOM for a night. It truely reminds me often why I fell in love with him. Its just us and we can feel/act like teenagers. How FUN is that!"

She organized it into a few different categories that worked for her and hubby... This is a great place to categorize ideas that you will actually do and know you can do. Maybe even a place to include ideas that you'd like hubby to do for you (wink, wink).

So, pull out some scrapbook paper, get decorating that binder, and perhaps the work you put into the binder will be motivation enough to do all the dates found within!

Movie Night Done Fast & Cheap!

So, as I've been going through my gazillions of files (which are basically cues for me to work up an idea for the blog), I've realized how far behind I am on ideas that YOU have submitted or that I've found on YOUR blogs! So, it's time I do some features...I won't get to all of your submitted ideas, but I'm gonna do some of my favorites. Thank you to everyone who has submitted ideas to me. Every one of them are worthy of a post and I hope to get to all of them eventually!

Today's idea is from The Whimsical Princess. It's super simple, but completely perfect for busy moms, especially. Sometimes, Date Night sneaks up on you and you don't have time to plan a big, extravagant evening. This idea can come to your rescue:

She Red Box'd a DVD (one that her man wouldn't roll his eyes at), found the popcorn containers at the Target $1.00 aisle, got some "movie theatre candy" and made up some tickets on her computer.

Just a simple idea to spice up the boring "watch-a-movie-on-the-couch-night". :)

Sweet Thoughts Jar (Love Actually Version)

I posted about this idea last July and finally got around to creating my own recently!

This was the best idea for a simple birthday treat for my hubby this year. He was busy studying for his boards and didn't have a second for any kind of birthday celebration. So, I figured some sugar and some "sweet thoughts" would help him at least stay awake and focused on studying hard!

I found the jar at WalMart for $6.97 and made my own tag.

The "sweet thoughts" were sentiments including silly dentist jokes (he's in dental school), memories from our dating days, little things I love about him, thoughts about things he's good at, little thank you's, etc.

Love Donuts

I found this on A Morris Blog before Valentine's Day this year but just didn't have time to share it then. So, off to the files it went and here it is now! I think it's a great lovey-dovey little treat.

She used a can or two of Grands biscuit dough, cut a hole in the center of each biscuit using a mini heart cutter, and then fried in hot oil. (She recommended flipping the donut over when it becomes golden colored, removing from oil and draining on a paper towel). She then dipped each donut or hole into a baggie with either cinnamon sugar mix or powdered sugar. {Close baggie and shake, shake, shake.}

Simple, right? Love the idea!

I'm a little too busy to make some for me and hubby right now...maybe somebody feels like overnighting some of their fried deliciousness to me?

JUMBO Personalized Crossword Puzzle

I'm not sure what it is with me and things being JUMBO.... but I just think they are much cooler.

This was a previous idea from Love Actually that Melanie from Sugar Doodle used, adapted and shared with her readers. I love it!

There was an idea on "Love Actually" for making personalized crossword puzzles. I loved the idea!!! With my hubby's birthday quickly approaching, I knew it would be a fun thing to do. I came up with many questions myself but I also invited other family members to contribute questions. It was fun to see what they came up with!

There are several free crossword programs online but I used one of the two mentioned on "Love Actually". Click here for the one I used.

Once I completed the puzzle, I saved it to a memory stick and took it to my local Fed-Ex Kinkos and enlarged it (DON'T go around 5:30 when the Fed-Ex guy is picking up all the packages that need to be shipped and you have to wait forever!!! Just a tip to reduce your stress ....)

You can make your crossword puzzle as large as you want. (I used my editing program to add a title to the crossword puzzle but you could also just write it by hand.)

What I've Been Up To...

Okay, I have a confession. Ready?

My name is Cher and I'm a scrapaholic.

BUT, I have a good reason. I'm determined to catch up on all of my scrapbooking for the past few years...I'm almost there, but I'm not quitting until I'm all caught up.

My job has been very demanding lately and digital scrapping has been therapeutic for me...

Anyway, so that's my confession. I'll continue until there's nothing left to scrap, and then I'm sure I'll turn back into a blogaholic.

I knew some of you would't believe me, so I have just a few items of proof for your viewing pleasure. :)

Match the Memory (Personalized Online Game)

Okay....this is a fun idea submission that I just had to share! Curtis from MatchtheMemory sent me the link to his website where you can create memory match games for free using your own pictures!

You can upload your pictures and build a memory game that anyone can play online for free. You choose the colors, fonts, and images. There are cute animations and sound effects when you get a match right. You can also add your own content to the window that pops up when the player makes a match.

So... you can create a game featuring pictures of you and your spouse! Fun, right? The whole thing takes just a couple of minutes, and it's very easy! Curtis created one for his wife at. Check it out HERE.

Possible uses for this idea:

- Send the link for your match game to your husband/wife at work (for a lovey-dovey distraction)

- Long Distant Relationships
- Exchange two of the pictures for a text image of something you want to tell him/her..

Body Shop Date Night & Roleplay

Ladies, start your engines!!

This is an idea that your guy just might love. The hubs and I created this idea from scratch and both agree that there are just a few small things that take it from mediocre to great (or "freakin' awesome" as my husband so delicately put it).

Obviously this is a roleplay idea and is intended to be sexy. But, for obvious reasons, I've tried to keep the suggestiveness to a minimum for this post. However, when it comes time for you to use this idea, you're gonna need to rev it up a little bit. Luckily, there are about a MILLION connotations/twists you can put on vehicle maintenance terminology. (google 'vehicle maintenance services' if you need ideas based off actual services). You'll find out why you need to do this in a bit..

Here's how it all goes down:

Stick a little "maintenance notice" in his car as early as you'd like prior to this date night. (could be the same day or a few days prior).

In preparation for the date,

- Wear some jean or khaki overalls...or anything that looks "auto shop technician-y"
- smudge some grease (mascara works great) on your cheek
- wear your hair up in a loose raggy ponytail (if applicable)
- brush up on your "car talk" and just spout stuff off like you know what you're talking about (this is useful during the "inspection" portion of the night)
- Gather some Gadgets: clipboard, tire pressure gauge, flashlight, a shop rag, (anything that could be useful during your "inspection")
- Put up some door plaques on your bathroom/bedroom doors. You may have to
change the inspection garage and maintenance shop mid-date if you're using your bedroom as both of these).

When it comes time for the date, welcome your customer to your Body Shop and invite him to "drive his vehicle into the inspection garage". You'll then explain that you, an experienced technician, will do a comprehensive inspection to identify any problems with his vehicle.

This is where you get creative. Use your gadgets (examples above) to measure, inspect, and do whatever the heck you want to do. You can make him stand a certain way, make him flex his muscles for you to measure, etc etc. (sounds corny, but seriously...this can be hilariously fun). Take notes on your clipboard during the inspection, without letting him see.

Then, when the inspection phase is through, prepare your invoice. This is where you want to write the "good stuff" using sexy connotations of auto shop lingo. (My example is boring, so don't copy it!!) Get creative!

Then give him the invoice and have him sign and date the bottom. (Put this in a secret scrapbook...you'll laugh about it years from now!)

The rest doesn't require much help from me.

Maintenance Shop comes next... (have him leave and re-enter if you need just for the effect) and then do your thing. After, the Car Wash (showering or bathing together...) is the perfect conclusion!

His & Hers Bedding

I’m always a little puzzled when watching TV and the couples on the show have beds with perfectly pressed bedding, sheets that are neatly tucked in and perfectly fluffed pillows. The couple gets into their bed. The husband reads the paper, while the wife rubs lotion on her arms. Then, the light goes as they are cozily tucked in. aww..

Then the TV goes off and it’s time for me and hubby to go to bed. We’re lucky to even FIND the top sheet on my bed. And shared blankets? What is that? We don’t share blankets. We each have our own side. And, like 5 year olds, there IS a line which divides each side of our bed. If it gets crossed in the middle of the night, you better believe there will be elbow throwing, kicking, and all manner of nastiness to get HIS leg back over to HIS side!

Annnnyway…. As I was thinking about that, I thought that these bedding sets seemed very appropriate.

The Laundry Lottery

Hubby and I both agree that folding the laundry is THE worst household chore. Ever. And, I, being the wife, usually get stuck with it. Not lately. I've recently adopted a new way of getting my husband to help with the laundry.

I created something I like to call "The Laundry Lottery".

When it's time to fold the laundry, I transform my dryer into the Lottery Machine by placing these Laundry Lottery cards in it.

One card, in my favor, says: "Folding Duty"

The other, in his favor, says: "Lucky You" (which could be anything you designate prior to the draw...whatever you think might lure him in the best!)

Then, I summon him back to the laundry room with: "Hey huuuunny....wanna play the laundry lotto?!" You've gotta make sure he knows what's at stake and what's to be gained from playing. Showing him the cards go INTO the dryer might be reassuring. When you've got him lured in, give the dryer a little tumble and let him open it up to pick the card.

It's About You

So often, my husband finds me working on Love Actually and he always says, "Cher, you put so much time into that blog! You could be making so much money if you just sold your ideas."

The ideas of turning this blog into a "money maker" have been tossed around again and again....but somehow I'm always led back to just continuing the way I am going.

Maybe it's lack of ambition, maybe it's fear of no recognition, maybe it's just a fun hobby that I can't seem to let go of. Or maybe I'm concerned that those who really need the ideas need them to be free! I don't know.

I do know that the real reason behind keeping up on this blog becomes very clear when I read something like this.

What is the real reason?

It isn't about the money.

It isn't lack of ambition.

It's not about the recognition.

And, I have plenty of other hobbies to keep my attention.

It's about you.

You, who want to love your spouse more. You, who have a desire to make them happy forever. It's such a simple and yet such a significant desire. It's a hard thing to do at times. And that brings you back here to get inspired and motivated.

I'm both proud and grateful for all that has come out of this blog. It is a lot of work, but worth it in every way after reading sweet comments like Brittney's and so many others of you who have sent emails and left comments.

So, thank you for being here, reading, commenting, and spreading the word about Love Actually. I hope I'll be able to continue it until ideas no longer come to mind...or at least until I get more ambitious, need some spending money, or discover a hobby more rewarding than enriching the love lives of others... :)

April Showers bring...ROMANCE!

Sometimes, I think our guys just need a little anticipation. I don't say that because I read their minds...it's just that my husband told me so. And, to me, he IS the expert. In fact, today's post is HIS clever idea.

Playing off the theme of "April Showers", this idea will have you giving your husband a very interesting weather forecast...

I took a clip of a weather forecast online (I used the 7-day forecast from weatherbug.com) and photoshopped it to my heart's content! This was the result (look closely...this isn't just any normal forecast).

I placed it in an envelope with a note, "Thought you might be interested in the forecast for Monday."

Custom Options: How to Create Your Own

(Okay, people... I'm not a digital design expert or teacher, so I'm going to give this my best shot...)

*If you have Windows 7, use your "Snip Tool" to copy the screen image of your forecast.

*If you have Windows XP or older, click shift+PrintScreen button and then open Microsoft Word and click paste or CTRL V. Your forecast image should appear.

*You can edit the image in Word and then print.

*If you pasted the image into Word, but want to edit it in Photoshop, save the document as a PDF, and then open that file in Photoshop for editing.

So, you're looking forward to becoming a threesome (some of you hoping that those days will hurry up and get here) but it's absolutely crucial that you enjoy and put your focus on your twosome!

I found this great article from WhatToExpect.Com about preparing for your life with a baby, while still enjoying life now (I know it's easier said than done, but read on, my friends...)

Live It Up

{Sure, you're a little preoccupied with getting pregnant. But don't forget to celebrate life as a couple (while you still can)! Here's how.}

Experienced moms will tell you (perhaps with a glint of envy in their eyes) that now's the time for you and your partner to get out and live it up. Once you're pregnant — and certainly once your beautiful baby arrives — you'll be more housebound than ever. (Maternity leave? More like maternity stay!) So what to do now with your current (baby-) free evenings and weekends? Here are some ideas to spur you to action and to enjoy — while it's still just the two of you:

Be adventurous. Once you've got baby on board, you'll need to play it safe where exercise and outdoor activities are concerned. So be adventurous now, and try something new. Call a local stable and arrange for a trail ride through the woods, or go on a bike tour through a neighborhood you've wanted to check out. Try kayaking or white-water rafting, or, for something more tepid, join a walking group or sign up for swimming lessons (both of which might transition nicely into an enjoyable pregnancy workout).

Try a romantic getaway. Who says it ruins the romance to be the one to plan a weekend away? Take the reins and find something that speaks to both of your interests: museum, country inn, movies, and brunch? Mountain biking, kitschy motel, ice cream, and live music? Get creative — use your lunch hour to brainstorm all the possibilities, and then ask around for destinations within a few hours' drive. If you're actively trying to conceive, plan your trip around your ovulation time. Go on a late-night escapade. Being out and about into the wee hours is something few pregnant women can abide (and new parents are up at 4 a.m. for an entirely different reason!). So whoop it up before that first-trimester fatigue has you curled up like a cat! Catch a midnight movie, grab a bite at an all-night diner, or visit an observatory to gaze at the stars. And that nightclub you've always been curious about? Slip into that little black dress (you may not be wearing it again for a while) and go.

Be spontaneous. Once you're a new mom, spur-of-the-moment plans may become a thing of the past: Between baby's nap and feeding times, you may feel like a slave to your little one's schedule. So feel free to hop from one activity to another, letting your whims dictate your next move. Browse in a bookstore, stop by a friend's, or take a drive in the country and check into a bed-and-breakfast for the night…anything that strikes your fancy. Now's the time to leave the day planner behind and have some free-flowing fun.
