Ready for some Midweek Romance?
Of course you are! And, today's tip is even easier than most in this category. It just requires a tiny bit of reading.
Here's the scenario:
I come home from work and my husband is already home.
He rushes over to the door, grabs my bag, and says, "Hunny, I know you've had a really rough day..."
Confused, I begin to mutter, "But..it wasn't a rough..."
He cuts me off mid-sentence,"Hun, you just need to relax and forget all about it. Go lay down on the bed and I'll give you a massage."
Suddenly, I realize he's just doing this to be nice! I concede. Now that I think about it, it was a pretty rough day...I do need to relax and I DO need a massage. :)
{by the way, this is right out of my husband's playbook. he's good.}
So, here is your assignment for tonight:
DO THIS! When he (or she) gets home tonight, greet them at the door, acknowledge their "rough day", and give them a nice little massage (it doesn't have to be long). I put my personal stamp of approval on this one. Guaranteed....or your money back! (Wait, what money?)

AND, as your Personal Love Assistant, I'd like you all to check back in with me tomorrow and let me know how it went...with these questions in mind. SERIOUSLY.
- How did it make you feel? How do you think it made him/her feel?
- Were there lasting effects throughout the rest of the evening?
- Will you do it again someday when they expect it least?
- Do you see differences in your marriage/relationship when you use ideas from this blog and put a little effort into romance?!
I am looking forward to your comment today....AND tomorrow! Don't let me down! :)

Too bad my husband is already in bed sleeping when I get home (since he works nights). Otherwise he's up watching TV or something... perhaps I'll have him stumble on this post sometime in the near future and he can do it for ME!
I wish I could get away with doing this one. My husband gets home around 3pm and the kids are always awake and terrorizing (okay, playing, but still). I guess it would still work if I just waited until after they went to bed.
I hear you, girls...But there is always a way. Adapt it as best you can. You may have to be creative to figure out a way. Put a movie on in the kids' bedrooms (on a laptop) or in the living room while you greet him...in only has to take a few minutes. Good luck!
I'll have to try this tomorrow as tonight he is meeting me at our daughter's singing/dancing performance! Thank you for all of YOUR wonderful ideas (I am not creative in the romance department and I have 4 little kids that demand much energy)! I thought we had a wonderful marriage before reading your blog but I must say it is much improved since implementing YOUR ideas. It makes me and him feel great when I remember the romance. He did reciprocate for the first time since I've been trying your blog ideas. He e-mailed me a sweet little love letter. Thank you again! You're awesome!
My Aunt showed me your blog...I love it! I then came to work and showed all the girls i work with.you are so creative!!It's amazing! I'm getting married in 3 weeks and I'm kinda excited to try some of the things. I want to show my fiance your blog...but i don't want him to steal the ideas because i want to do it!! haha. You're awesome!!
I love doing this! I am also a newlywed with no kids and a husband is school though. Point being several days a week he doesn't get home until 8:30 at night and I have supper ready for him. When I let him know that a meassage will follow he is always is a so much better mood! I feel better about life because I did something to make him happy! He is more willing to help with dishes and other household chores. As far as differences in my relationship because of this blog, YES! My husband is the farthest from a romantic but for him just the fact that he knows I am trying to make him happy is enough! In the short 5 months that I have been married I can say short little massages and service are they key to our extra happy marriage! Thanks for the ideas!
From someone who is currently struggling in her marriage of 8 years, your ideas have been a real help. I will use this one tonight for sure. I also used the camping in the living room idea for his birthday last month and I think he really appreciated the extra effort. That's definitely what it's all about. Please keep the ideas coming.
Thanks for stopping by my blog & helping to make my SITS day special!
I'm coming back here for more love advice. :)
Thanks for stopping by and helping me celebrate my sits day today! I had ginormous fun.
Well, I did this last night, and I know my husband certainly enjoyed it. It really gave us an opportunity to just sit down for a few minutes and talk about how both our days went, without doing multiple other things at the same time. Thanks for the ideas!
I just found your blog yesterday and I am so excited to have found it! Your ideas are so creative. My fiance and I are paying for most of our upcoming wedding ourselves and every extra penny goes to the "wedding fund." It's nice to have some romantic options that are about the two of us and not about spending money :)
